Peel Bright Minds is a new initiative for the community of the Peel region, formed with the knowledge that Peel people will need to adapt to have the necessary skills and characteristics for the future workforce. To prepare for this they need engagement, education and capability building in Entrepreneurship, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (ESTEAM). With our vision of ‘Inspiring a curious community’, Peel Bright Minds will work to inspire our community to engage with ESTEAM and citizen science.
Peel Bright Minds is a joint initiative of Peel region stakeholders and Inspiring Australia. Our founding sponsors are Regional Development Australia Peel, Peel Development Commission, and Peel Harvey Catchment Council.Peel Bright Minds is a joint initiative of Peel region stakeholders and Inspiring Australia.
We officially launched the initiative in an event at Make Place in January 2018, attended by representatives of regional leadership, local government bodies, industry, the education and training sector, amongst others. Speeches from Professor Lyn Beazley (Science Ambassador), Paddi Creevey (Chair of RDA Peel and Peel Development Commission), and Mayor Rhys Williams (City of Mandurah) inspired launch attendees with their infectious enthusiasm for the Peel region, ESTEAM, and for preparing our community to thrive in the future workforce.
